Lagarosiphon(Oxygen weed). It can form dense patches that prevent boating,fishing ,swimming and can also crowd out native aquatic plants.
You can keep it out of Lake Wakatipu
Here's how.......
Before you launch your boat,check it and remove any weed.When you have finished boating and before you leave the boat ramp,clean any weed off your boat's hull, motor,intakes and trailer.Before you leave the lake,clean all weed off your fishing,ski and swimming gear.Don't take any weed with you when you have been boating on Lakes Dunstan,Roxburgh or Wanaka.
If you don't do your part to stop this noxious weed spreading it will be your fun and enjoyment that suffers.If you find lagarosiphon in Lake Wakatipu report it on;
