OK ~ Firstly I have to remind everyone that I only have a few months' experience growing drosera. I started with tropical, pygmy and lastly tuberous ... I don't have real practice growing tuberous but I did spend quite some time browsing in the net as well as ordering reference books to read. What I am going to mention here is just a mix of information I gethered in the previous weeks and I really hope it can help .. but .. please correct me or provide more useful information for all CP friends here if those I posted isn't comprehensive enough or info is incorrect .. Drosera peltata is one of the widely spread tuberous and most common one in cultivation. Like other tuberous drosera, it germinate every year from the underground tubers starting from early winter, grow to its mature size and finish flowering right before hot summer weather comes.
Plenty of water have to be given during the growing season and the temperature have to be kept cool all along. Most growers will put the pot in a narrow tray of water. Give them plenty of sunlight just like most of the drosera. Well feed plants will form bigger tubers in dormant state and remember to let the plant exposed to insect source.
The upper vegetative growth then die back in early summer to the underground tuber again. The plant is in dormant state during the hot weather where dry and cool condition should be given to the dormant tubers to prevent the tuber from rotting. Some growers tend to take the tubers out of the pots and store them separatly but it will be just fine to let the pot completely dry out ( except for some special tuberous drosera ) and sit in a cool dry place.
My peltata came up from tubers and formed basal rosettes of leaves early last month. Stems started to elongate and the plants are now erect. They are now receiving almost full sunlight and sit in a tray with low water level.
